Maker Space

Buhl Public Library is now a Maker Library!

     What does that mean?
The Maker Movement is a technology based extention of the DIY movement.  A Maker Space is a creative space for people to gather. One of the ideas of Maker is to "bring back inventors and innovators." It also supports the STEM and STEAM that are found in the classroom. STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering, Math. STEAM adds the Arts.

Feel free to drop in any time and check out what we have. And maybe even learn a new skill.

Most of the time when you are Making something you also get to take it home with you.

For Teens join us Wednesday after school (during the school year) for some Maker activities.

So what do we have?
Brick Lab (think over 6,000 Lego type pieces)
Fischer Technik and Fisher Technik Robotics
        Soldering Irons
        Squishy Circuts
        Breadboards
Makey Makey (Let's make a Banana Piano!)
        Arduino and other circuitry
3-D printer that uses PLA filament
        Yarn for Knitting and Crocheting
             and so much more!!!

The Following pictures are things that Amanda Hatfield and Kara Davidson have put together to show off some of our tools and activities that you can make. These are things that you can learn to do here at the library.

Or just come in and mess around with our Brick Lab and Legos. We also have Lego Duplos for the younger set.
